
Alfonso Miro is a General in the Italian Army with an impressive academic and professional background. He holds degrees in Strategic Sciences from the University of Turin and Political Science from the University of Trieste, as well as two master’s degrees.
Most recently, General Miro served as Commander of the Military Command of Lombardy (CME Lombardia), where he led critical operations, including public safety and health initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. His military career spans significant leadership roles and contributions to international and domestic operations.
Prior to his command of CME Lombardia, General Miro served as Military Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Moscow, overseeing military relations for Russia, Armenia, Belarus, and Turkmenistan. He has extensive experience in international military operations, including deployments to Albania, Bosnia, and Afghanistan.
As the Commanding Officer of the 1st Signal Regiment, General Miro was assigned to NATO Headquarters. He later led the Italian Army Signal Brigade, where he directed, as Director of main IT ARMY ICT, major ICT projects, including cybersecurity initiatives, disaster recovery for 12 data centers, and network protection.
An expert in international relations, General Miro completed the High Defense Studies Course (CHEM) in Paris. He is fluent in English and French and has a strong command of Russian.
Currently, General Miro serves as a Member of the Scientific Committee of the "Osservatorio Metropolitano" in Milan and as a Senior Advisor for Vento & Associati.
